Ramps and Frames

Ramp transitions can be configured many ways to accommodate the door swing or landing requirements with the use of the FreeAxez optional components of straight ramp; angle ramp and frame.

slopeStraight Ramp

Straight ramps (4201/7201) are installed between walls, or alternatively can be bordered with a FreeAxez stainless steel edge frame.

slopeExternal Angle Ramp

External angle ramps (4202/7202) are installed outside the room to create 90 degree L-shape and 180 degree U shape ramps. These configurations allow movement in/out without an edge. It is also useful as a corner piece when the raised floor is a stand-alone platform (or island).

Internal angle ramps (4203/7203) are installed inside the room as a corner piece to create 90 degree L-shape (as shown) and 180 degree U-shape ramps. These configurations allow movement in / out without an edge.

L-Type Trapezoid PlateTypes of Frames

rampsFrames are stainless steel finishing pieces – they are facia quality. The frames do create a ‘step’ up to the floor. Frames are used to finish off the floor wherever the underside of the floor is exposed.

  • At the doorway threshold, the frame can be installed in lieu of ramps
  • If the access flooring system terminates in the middle of a room instead of at the walls, the frame would be installed
  • A ’island’ of raised flooring – for example a display floor or fitness area within a larger room, would have frame around the entire perimeter
  • If a straight ramp is installed at the doorway with angled Ramps, the frame would be installed on side(s) of the straight ramp

The frames are approximately ¼” taller than the access floor, this is so that when floor covering is placed on the access floor, the frame will provide a ‘stopping’ edge
