Gridd Reinforced

The Reinforced and Reinforced Plus systems use reinforced corner plates, channel plates, and base units to increase the load rating of the standard Gridd system.

Electrical

The Gridd low-profile access floor is not part of the grounding system. It is not intended to enclose splices or other wiring required to be enclosed in a raceway as defined in the NEC, Art. 100. All wiring/cabling installed under the floor must conform to the applicable sections of the National Electrical Code (NEC).*

The Gridd system complies with the intent of the provisions of the following codes and regulations certified by an IAPMO UES Evaluation:

  • 2021, 2018, 2015, 2012, and 2009 International Building Code® (IBC)
  • 2013 Abu Dhabi International Building Code (ADIBC)
  • 2023 City of Los Angeles Building Code (LABC)
  • 2022 California Building Code (CBC)

Acoustical

  • The Gridd Systems are used in acoustically sensitive environments.
  • Gridd installation details are available to preserve a Sound Transmission Class Rating (STC) up to 55.
  • The Gridd Systems enhance Delta Impact Insulation Class (DIIC) and Impact Insulation Class (IIC) ratings relative to a standard concrete subfloor.
  • The Gridd System provides a comparable Sound Power rating to spaces with standard concrete subfloors.

Seismic

The Gridd System meets the requirements for a Special Seismic Certificate of Compliance of UBC-1997/IBC-2015/CBC-2013/ASCE 7-16 with an Importance Factor of 1.5.*

*All load carrying units and other heavy equipment shall be anchored directly to the existing structure so as to resist design seismic loads. All attachments to the access flooring shall be engineered by others.
